The M4 was a cardboard container having 47 grains of double base powder with a primer located in a brass base. It fitted snugly into the cartridge container and was disadvantageous in that set-back would cause residue of the M4 Ignition Cartridge to remain in the weapon.
No information about functioning.
Nothing else to see.
